(male announcer) this is the bay area news station, kron 4 news starts now. >> a fierce two- alarm fire detroys a three- story building in oakland. the raging fire broke out just after five -this evening this is video of the scene from our helicopter partnership with abc 7. from earlier this evening. kron 4's philippe djegal is live at the scene. where the fire investigation is still ongoing tonight.

philippe? >> reporter: pam, we are on the 600 block of harrison. the fire department said that this is been vacant quite for some time. even squatters could be the cause for this fire. three men actually were found on the top of the roof on the next building of this burning structure. they have been treated. there is a company that is boarding up the windows and as you can see there or at least for water hoses onto the building. at least four of them. at 5: 21 they were able to contain the fire within three hours it was completely controlled. the never fire

never hopped to a n adjacent building structures for however, this is what"take a look at what the scene looked like earlier." they noticed that three men were standing on top of the building that is now destroyed. they were treated for respiratory issues and a later detained by the oakland police department. it is possible they were responsible for starting a fire. >> what we did not realize is that they could be involved in the fire. the police department has been in custody. they are being questioned on weather or not they had involvement with the fire. am i spoke with the oakland police department and they said no arrests have been made. the oakland fire department is still on the scene. this will still be here to make sure that there are still no

south bay with more moderate rainfall through milpitas and san jose. as we take a look of the satellite & radar we are continuing to see this stream of moisture to the south. notice, it has been rapidly diminishing. this three hour time block. on futurecast, the widespread rainfall depicting by 11 and towards midnight, notice that it is a largely dying down. there is a slight chance of rainfall tomorrow. i will talk it and time it out on futurecast >> pam: two teens are recovering tonight in the hospital, after they were shot on the ohlone greenway trail in el cerrito today. kron 4's reggie kumar tells us, police are still trying to figure out a motive. >> reporter: the shooting happened at 2 p-m between

stockton and eureka, below the bart tracks. el cerrito police say there was a confrontation between two groups of teenagers. two in one group pulled out handguns and shot two teens in the other group then took off. investigators still don't know why the two suspects pulled the trigger t. police spent most the day collecting evidence and searching for the weapons, which they say they did not recover. alan bauista just got home from school when heard shots fired on the ohlone trail. >> i went over to the trial and i saw the police and they started chasing the sky. and i walked over and i was wondering what happened. >> reporter: these schools were both placed on lockdown for a short time. investigators do not believe that this incident was gang- related in el cerrito reggie kumar >> pam: san jose police are asking for the public's help. finding a man who kidnapped a teenage girl.

investigators say, the man in this sketch grabbed the 13-year-old early friday morning. and dragged her into a driveway. the young girl managed to fight him off. and the suspect ran away. he is described as a hispanic male between 25- and-35- years old. san jose police released this sketch to the public. in the hopes someone might come forward with information. norman if we canvassed the area. and the investors were able to get some information but it looks like this is where we are going to need the public's health. >> pam: the case is considered a kidnapping since the man forcibly moved the girl from one place to another. investigators say, the man spoke english and was wearing brown work shoes, with white paint on them. >> superbowl excitement starting to build. the 49ers were back on the practice field today. preparing for their trip to the superbowl.kron 4's j.r. stone spent the day in santa clara. and has more on the locker room vibe. as the team approaches super bowl week.

>> san francisco city leaders are already making plans for superbowl sunday. repeat of the chaos that occurred in some neighborhoods after the giants won the world series. this is video. the mayor says, law enforcement leaders are meeting with the department of emergency management. about how to keep post -game crowds under control. he also says, the n-f-l has turned down their request to broadcast the game from a jumbotron. something they have done in the past during other big games. what has not been nailed down. is the traditional wager between san francisco's mayor ed lee and the mayor of baltimore. >> not on the specifics yet. but certain quality, maybe some crabcakes are in the mix. >> pam: mayor lee also has not decided on whether or not to head to new orleans to watch the game in person. he says he's torn. because well on the road without him so far, and he doesn't want

they decided to go out and kill some americans what difference at this point does it make? it is our job to figure out what happened and prevent it from happening again. >> pam: clinton did say she takes the death of u-s diplomats on her watch very personally and even became emotional during the hearing. pentagon chief leon panetta is removing the military's ban on women serving in combat. that move will open up hundreds of thousands of front-line positions. also - the possibility of elite commando jobs. it's a ground-breaking move -- and panetta's decision gives the military until january of 20-16 to argue any special exceptions. but some of the jobs could open as soon as this year. >> ofthe oakland city council approved four crime- fighting measures this morning. including a controversial measure to hire a top cop as a consultant.

the council voted 7 to 1 after four hours of public comment.as concerned residents packed the council chamber. former new york and los angeles police chief william bratton is known for his controversial tactics. also for his previouis successes in reducing crime. one of his strategies is stop and frisk, which many are opposed to. oakland police chief howard jordan says that is not something they plan on implementing. >> that is not something that we will be implementing. our policy is reasonable cause. >> pam: bratton is expected to start mid february. coming up and sports more practice with what alex smith had to say about being
